80-Year-Old Man Detained for Illegal Fuel Transportation
On March 19, at the Agios Dometios checkpoint, customs officers stopped a car driven by an 80-year-old man and discovered a large quantity of fuel inside.
There were 10 canisters in the trunk: a total of 160 liters of diesel and 40 liters of gasoline.
The man was detained, and both the fuel and the vehicle were seized. He was later released after paying a fine of €1,000.
