Seabed Cleanup Campaign in Paphos
A successful seabed cleanup campaign took place in Paphos, organized by the Cyprus Ports Authority. During the event, around two tons of various waste were collected — plastic, metal, rubber, and other items that had polluted the coastal area and negatively affected the marine ecosystem.
The campaign involved professional divers, Paphos municipal services, the Department of Environment, the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research, the Paphos Fishermen’s Association, Beirut University, Atlas Academy, volunteers, and local residents.
The Cyprus Ports Authority expressed gratitude to all participants for their contribution to preserving the marine environment and stressed the importance of cooperation between the state, citizens, and local organizations in protecting the country's natural resources.
