Hooded Gang Continues to Target Couriers in Limassol
Another food delivery courier has fallen victim to a violent robbery in Limassol. A young man was attacked by a group of around 20 hooded individuals.
According to the police, the latest attack on a delivery worker took place late last night, just before midnight.
The 23-year-old victim reported that he was riding his motorcycle to deliver an order in the Agia Fyla area when he was ambushed by about 20 people on mopeds. The attackers beat him with sticks, knocked him off his motorcycle, and stole his delivery bag, which contained just €90 in cash.
The victim stated that the assailants were armed with knives and clubs and wore hooded clothing.
In recent months, crimes against couriers have surged in Cyprus, particularly in Limassol. Authorities suspect that many of these attacks may be racially motivated.
A similar incident occurred earlier this week, when a 20-year-old courier was robbed of his money and an electric bicycle worth €2,500.
