Banks in Cyprus to close for three days due to Orthodox Easter
The Central Bank of Cyprus announced on Monday that all local banking institutions will be closed for three days in observance of Orthodox Easter. The closures will begin on April 10, 2026 (Good Friday) and continue through April 13, 2026 (Easter Monday) and April 14, 2026 (Easter Tuesday).
The official notice states that the scheduled closures are part of the annual bank holiday calendar. On these dates, financial services will be suspended, and bank branches will remain closed.
The Central Bank's message emphasizes that the non-working period will cover the specified timeframe and will be observed by all local credit institutions. For residents in Cyprus, this means that banking services at branches will be unavailable on these dates by decision of the regulator.
The information was published by the Central Bank of Cyprus and communicated to the public through an official notice.
