Some roads in Cyprus to be closed this evening due to highway maintenance
Some highways in Cyprus will be closed this evening due to maintenance works, police announced. In particular, work will be carried out on the Limassol-Nicosia highway near the Kotsiatis and Tseri areas. Ongoing maintenance continues on the Famagusta-Larnaca and Paphos-Limassol highways.
On the Limassol-Nicosia highway, between the Kotsiatis exit and the new peripheral highway toward Nicosia, road marking works will take place from 22:00 to 5:00 Friday morning. One lane will be closed in sections, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Paphos-Limassol highway toward Limassol, from Avdimou to Episkopi, maintenance works will take place from 20:00 to 5:30 Friday morning. During the works, both lanes in the direction of Limassol will be closed in sections of about three kilometers, and traffic will be diverted to the corresponding lane toward Paphos with two-way traffic.
On the Larnaca-Famagusta highway, between the Kalo Chorio and Rizoelia junctions, maintenance works will be carried out from 20:00 Thursday to 5:30 Friday morning. Both lanes in the direction from Kalo Chorio to Rizoelia will be closed for about three kilometers. Traffic will be diverted to the opposite direction (Rizoelia to Larnaca Airport), where two-way traffic will be implemented.
Police urge drivers to be cautious, maintain a safe low speed, keep a safe distance from other vehicles, and follow temporary road markings in the construction zones.
