Power Outage in Limassol: Temporarily Affected Villages
On Monday evening, a truck collided with a power pole in Limassol, leaving parts of the district without electricity.
According to Christina Papadopoulou, spokesperson for the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC), the accident occurred at approximately 8:00 PM. The pole, which also housed a transformer, sustained significant damage.
The collision led to a short circuit, causing power outages in the villages of Asgata, Monagroulli, Moni, Pentakomo, and Pyrgos. Thankfully, EAC teams worked through the night to restore power, and all issues were resolved by this morning.
In addition, EAC has scheduled maintenance outages in Limassol for today. These will impact the Agios Nikolaos area from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Zakaki in two phases: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
