Four Vietnamese pot-bellied piglets have joined Paphos Zoo

Four piglets of the Vietnamese pot-bellied breed were born at Paphos Zoo. The sow carried the litter for three months, three weeks and three days — the standard gestation period for this breed. Four piglets were born, each weighing just over a kilogram.
The piglets are growing actively, exploring the enclosure under their mother's supervision and already showing distinct personalities: one is curious, another constantly grumbles, the third is the first to run to the feeding bowl, zoo staff note.
The zoo invites visitors to help come up with names for the newborns.
Adult pigs of this breed can reach 50 kg and live 15–20 years. They are known for their friendly nature and high intelligence and quickly become accustomed to people. “The piglets are already causing a real stir among visitors — it’s one of the cutest additions of the year,” says zoo employee Alexandra Theodoru.
