Paphos roads flooded after heavy rain
On November 25, 2025, the Paphos district was hit by intense rainfall that lasted from midday to early evening and led to flooding on the roads.
Many sections of both main and secondary roads were submerged, causing temporary difficulties for drivers and pedestrians. No more serious large-scale consequences were recorded.
According to the source, dry soil following a prolonged period of drought played a significant role in preventing large-scale flooding: the ground absorbed most of the precipitation, which also contributed to replenishing the aquifer.
Minor problems were reported in open areas and in the basements of residential buildings due to local water accumulation.
The rain prompted a positive response from farmers and the general population. Attention is now focused on tomorrow’s official records of the water authority regarding reservoir levels: the first measurable inflows are expected, albeit in small volumes.
