Sakura Festival in Kampos: Japanese culture and workshops on April 18
The third Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival will open at the Kampos Sakura Park in Cyprus on Saturday, April 18. The event begins at 11:00 and invites residents to see the cherry blossoms and participate in a cultural program.
The Embassy of Japan, which assisted in creating the park in 2022, will once again participate in the festival. The program includes a treat called Cherry Tofu, prepared with homemade cherry jam from Kampos according to a specially created chef's recipe.
Visitors will be offered to try on a traditional Japanese festive happi coat, displayed by the embassy for demonstration. Live musical performances are also planned by Eleni Hadjiafxenti and Nicos Evangelou, a children's caricature session with Sotos Voskarides, and a demonstration of traditional pumpkin decoration with Giannakis Ioannou.
The festival provides an opportunity to get acquainted with Japanese and local culture, see the cherry blossoms, and take part in workshops. Organizers ask to clarify details by phone: 22-942450. Information is based on the official announcement of the organizers.
