Beef prices rise in Cyprus ahead of Christmas

On the eve of the Christmas holidays, a noticeable increase in beef prices has been recorded in Cyprus. According to market data, the cost of meat has risen both in retail and at the supplier level, which is already reflected in price tags at butcher shops and supermarkets.
Industry participants link the price increase to several factors at once: heightened seasonal demand, rising costs of animal feed and logistics, as well as a general increase in producers’ expenses. As a result, beef prices have risen more significantly than those of other types of meat.
Experts do not rule out that prices may remain at the current level in the coming days or increase slightly further, given the high demand during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
