Kamares in Larnaca to be protected from flooding by 2027

Larnaca authorities said that a large-scale project to protect the Kamares area from flooding should resolve a problem that has existed since 2014. This was stated by the head of the district administration, Angelos Hatzicharalambous.
The project, costing around €7 million, includes the widening and deepening of the drainage channel as well as the connection of all stormwater networks. It will protect residential areas of Larnaca and Aradippou located in the Kalo Chorio river basin. The works are progressing ahead of schedule and may be completed earlier than 2027.
