Major traffic accident in the Nicosia province: a car collided with a tanker
In the morning of April 8th, on Monday, a serious traffic accident occurred in the Nicosia province, resulting in damage to the road network and the closure of the highway. According to the police, the accident happened around 06:30 in the morning. A car traveling on the Palechori - Nicosia road collided with a tanker.
Police officers promptly arrived at the scene of the incident. The section of the highway from Anageia to Deytera remains closed. Drivers are asked to use the old Nicosia - Palechori road through Deytera and Anageia.
Drivers heading towards Nicosia are asked to use the old road through the viaduct to the Ergaton industrial zone and Anageia - Deytera, while vehicles heading towards Palechori are redirected along the old road through the pass to the left of the roundabout on the Nicosia - Palechori road.
Police officers are at the scene of the collision, conducting an inspection, providing assistance, and regulating traffic. No further details of the accident are provided at this time.
Drivers are also asked to reduce speed and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead and to follow the instructions of the police officers in the area to assist in regulating traffic on the affected stretch.
