Limassol welcomes the 64th Wine Festival — full program of events presented
From September 27 to October 5, Limassol will host the 64th Wine Festival — a festive event for which the city hall has presented a detailed program of activities.
The traditional venue of the festival will once again be the municipal park, where guests will be welcomed from 19:00 to midnight. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the Marios Tokas Theater. The program features performances by dozens of artists and creative groups from Cyprus and Greece.
Wineries will offer bottled wines at special prices. For those interested, tastings are scheduled from 20:00 to 21:00. In addition, the park will host photo exhibitions, animated film screenings, and lectures on winemaking. Artistic lighting and installations will create a special atmosphere.
The festival program also includes activities for children: workshops to create wooden magnet figures of the winemaker Vrakas, stilt performances by Vrakas, shadow theater, pottery workshops, and magic shows.
This year, for the first time, the festival will extend beyond the city and include the winemaking villages of the district. Local events will take place on the first and last Sundays, offering guests a taste of Cypriot hospitality: traditional songs and dances, wine, and delicacies including palouze and siouciouko.
There will be three entrances to the festival where tickets will be sold. At the main waterfront entrance, guests will be greeted by a giant figure of Vrakas — the festival symbol since 1961.
