Large-scale police raids: arrests and hundreds of violations in one night

Cyprus police conducted a series of night operations aimed at crime prevention and enhancing public safety. During the raids, three people were detained on charges including forgery, drug possession, driving a stolen vehicle, and drunk driving.

According to Cyprus Police data, 492 vehicles and 689 people were checked as part of the operations. In parallel, 33 establishments were inspected, resulting in nine administrative reports.

Special attention was paid to traffic control. During the night, 301 traffic violations were recorded, and 14 investigations were launched. Additionally, seven vehicles were impounded as part of the ongoing checks.

The most common violation was speeding, with 166 reports filed. Another four cases involved driving under the influence of alcohol, identified during 79 driver breathalyzer tests.

The police emphasized that such operations are conducted on a regular basis with an increased patrol presence and targeted checks. Their goal is not only to curb offenses but also to increase the sense of security among citizens.

Law enforcement authorities assured that control measures will continue in the future.
