Man Arrested in Cyprus with Two Kilograms of Cannabis
Cypriot police have arrested a man after discovering he was in possession of a large quantity of drugs. A search found approximately two kilograms of cannabis.
According to the police press office, the arrest took place around 7:30 PM yesterday in Nicosia when officers from the National Security Agency stopped a vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Larnaca resident for inspection. The man was taken into custody for further investigation.
Later, a search of his apartment in Larnaca led to the discovery and seizure of a small amount of cannabis. He has been detained on suspicion of illegal drug possession and is set to appear before the Nicosia District Court today.
The investigation is being carried out by the Nicosia Police Drug Squad (YKAN).
