Cyprus authorities have withdrawn chicken patties contaminated with Salmonella from sale

Cyprus authorities reported the recall of a batch of frozen raw chicken patties after Salmonella spp. bacteria were detected in the product. The contamination was found during routine laboratory testing of samples.
The dangerous product was marketed under the name «μπιφτέκια κοτόπουλου ωμά» (raw chicken patty) and sold in 600-gram packs (6 pieces). The packaging indicates batch number 13052025, and the expiration date is August 13, 2026. The country of origin of the product is Cyprus.
After the bacteriological contamination was identified, the manufacturer and distributor were instructed to immediately withdraw the product from all retail outlets. Authorities strongly advise consumers not to consume patties from this batch and to return them to the place of purchase.
Additionally, the health service reported that it is cooperating with the veterinary service to conduct further investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
