Low-income pensioners in Cyprus to receive Easter allowance
The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus has approved the payment of an Easter allowance for low-income pensioners. The proposal was submitted by the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare.
Households with an annual income of up to 7,000 euros for a single person and up to 12,000 euros for a family of two will be eligible for the allowance. For larger households, the income thresholds will be increased. These criteria remain the same as in 2024–2025.
The main change in 2026 is the abolition of the bank savings limit requirement, which was previously 30,000 euros.
Approximately 10,050 people are expected to be eligible for the payment, with the total program budget amounting to 2.5 million euros.
