Three dogs attacked a runner in Cyprus
Russian runner Irina Masanova was attacked by three dogs while jogging in Cyprus. According to the victim, the animals pounced on her while she was running along a familiar route.
"They bit my head. I'm covered in blood. I thought I was dying," Irina said. According to her, one of the dogs belonged to a woman who had come outside, after which the animals began protecting their owner and attacked her. The other dogs were reportedly stray.
The victim suffered serious head injuries and lost a lot of blood. She was taken to the hospital, where doctors conducted an examination, performed a CT scan, and applied stitches to her damaged scalp.
"I'm alive — that's the main thing. They had to sew my scalp back on, gave me painkillers," she said.
Due to her injuries, the athlete will not be able to participate in her upcoming race.
