IN CYPRUS PRISON GUARD GOT ARRESTED IN DRUG SMUGGLING CASE
A 45-year-old prison guard was detained in Cyprus on Wednesday morning. The police received reports that prison guards were systematically smuggling drugs for prisoners in prison.
Before arresting the security guard, drug enforcement officers searched his car and workplace. As a result of investigative actions, material evidence was discovered - adhesive strips impregnated with synthetic cannabinoids. The evidence has been submitted for examination. After this, the police issued an arrest warrant for the supervisor.
During the investigation, additional evidence emerged against two more citizens involved in this case. Arrest warrants have been issued for men aged 56 and 31 - both linked to the detained security guard.
Police have already questioned two suspects. Their evidence is currently being examined as part of a wider investigation into the drug smuggling operation.
