In Cyprus, 179 new police officers took the oath
In the Republic of Cyprus, 179 police officers have taken the oath. Recruits of the Cypriot Police Academy officially pledged to uphold the laws of the country.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Deputy Chief of Police, Dimitris Dimitriou, who welcomed the new officers and urged them to always work conscientiously, fulfilling their duties while distancing themselves from instances of corruption and conspiracy.
The Deputy Chief of Police noted that the police leadership always provides support to all officers, as their "primary concern is the safety and well-being of all officers."
After taking the oath, the recruits are required to undergo a preliminary six-week training program, including three weeks at the Police Academy and an additional three weeks in the motorized rapid response unit. Subsequently, they will be assigned to police departments and units.
