A person rescued from sea caves at Cape Greco in Cyprus
The Coordination Center for Search and Rescue Operations reported the rescue of a person from sea caves at Cape Greco in Cyprus. The incident occurred on September 30; at 18:55, the National E‑D Plan "Nearchos" was activated based on the information received.
For the operation, the fire station in Paralimni, the Special Rescue Unit EMAK, and a foot patrol from the Ammochostos Police Department were mobilized. According to reports, the victim was extracted by EMAK units.
The victim was transported by ambulance from the Cyprus State Health Services Organization to the Ammochostos General Hospital for further treatment. The Coordination Center also stated in an official release that the activation of forces and resources occurred around 19:00.
The operation was conducted within the framework of the National E‑D Plan "Nearchos", which provides for the involvement of relevant services upon receiving reports of persons in danger in the coastal area.
