Cases of aggression against teachers increase in Cyprus
An increase in aggressive behavior has been recorded in schools in Limassol and Larnaca in Cyprus — with teachers becoming the victims.
According to the teachers' organization OELMEK, educators have been subjected to insults, threats, attempted physical violence, and property damage by both students and parents.
In a recent incident in Limassol, a parent entered school grounds and attempted to attack a teacher while making threats.
The organization called on authorities to take urgent measures: strengthen school security, implement clear response protocols for such cases, and ensure the protection of educators.
The situation is causing serious concern within the educational community.
