Police Officer Detained in Cyprus Over Assault on Speed Camera Driver
A 44-year-old police officer has been detained in Cyprus on suspicion of involvement in an assault on a driver for a traffic violation photo-fixation company.
The incident occurred on March 12, 2026, on the Paphos–Limassol highway. The officer was arrested under a court warrant and taken into custody for investigative proceedings.
By order of the Chief of Police, he has also been temporarily suspended from duty.
Previously, another person — a 37-year-old man — was detained in connection with the same case.
The investigation is ongoing, conducted by the Paphos Police Criminal Investigation Department.
