In Cyprus, 137 homeless individuals have been registered

Authorities of the Republic of Cyprus have released data on homeless individuals identified in the country during the first half of 2023. According to the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, 137 people have been declared homeless in Cyprus, with 52 of them being Cypriots.

According to official information presented to the parliament by the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, a total of 137 people were directed to the Social Welfare Service in search of housing in the first half of 2023.

In the Nicosia district, there were 40 individuals, including 19 Cypriots, 10 European citizens, and 11 citizens of third countries.

In the Limassol district, there were 58 individuals, including 20 Cypriots, 19 European citizens, and 19 citizens of third countries.

In the Larnaca district, there were three individuals, including two Cypriots and one European citizen.

In the Paphos district, there were 32 individuals, including 11 Cypriots, 15 Europeans, and six citizens of third countries.

In the Famagusta district, there were four individuals, all of whom were European citizens.

It is noted that these are official data provided by the deputy minister to the parliament in a letter dated December 14, 2023.
