Swimming Resumes at Geroskipou Beach After Sewage Leak
The Municipality of Geroskipou has confirmed that recent microbiological tests have found no contamination in the waters at Geroskipou Beach, declaring it safe for swimming once again.

The beach had previously been flagged as a health risk after an overflow in the Paphos sewage system resulted in a significant volume of wastewater being discharged into the sea.
Following the incident, Geroskipou Municipality initiated legal action against the Paphos District Administration (Eoa) and the partner company responsible for operating and maintaining the biological wastewater treatment facilities.
In a public statement, the municipality highlighted that the issue, which has persisted for over a decade, has now reached "an unacceptable level." They assured residents that they are committed to taking “all necessary measures to hold those responsible accountable and to safeguard the community's well-being.”
