Nighttime Roadworks on the Nicosia–Limassol Highway Tonight
Tonight, Friday, May 2, nighttime roadworks will take place on the Nicosia–Limassol highway. The police are advising drivers to be extra cautious.
According to the Department of Public Works, the maintenance work will begin at 9:00 PM on Friday and continue until 5:00 AM on Saturday, May 3, on the stretch of road between Skarinou and Governor’s Beach. During this time, the right-hand lane heading toward Limassol will be partially closed, and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
These works are being carried out to clear debris from the central median of the highway.
It's important to note that the Limassol–Nicosia highway, near the Kalavasos Bridge, remains closed in the direction of Nicosia due to ongoing repairs and upgrades. This closure has been in place since January 30.
The Department of Public Works expects the work to be completed by May 15. Police are urging drivers to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and pay close attention to temporary road markings in the work zones.
