Nighttime quarrel near Faneromeni ends in arrest: couple attacked police officers

On December 29, police responded to a report of a disturbance of public order in the Faneromeni area. At around 1 a.m., a patrol from the Ledra station arrived at the scene.
According to law enforcement officials, a 33-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were present at the location and were heavily intoxicated. When police attempted to detain them, the couple began to resist aggressively and, as police claim, attacked the officers.
As a result, both individuals were arrested and taken to the Central Police Station of Nicosia. They face charges including assault on police officers, public insults, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
