Limassol police are investigating a robbery that occurred late on Sunday night at a residential house in the Germasogeia area. The victims were the 86-year-old homeowner and her 34-year-old housekeeper from the Philippines.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 23:35, when the house alarm was triggered. The housekeeper, who lived in a basement room, went upstairs to check the cause of the alarm and encountered an unknown man. The intruder forcibly dragged her back into the room, tied her hands and feet with plastic zip ties and tape, covered her mouth, and switched off her mobile phones.

Almost simultaneously, the elderly homeowner descended by elevator to the basement level and saw three individuals moving up through the house. One of the attackers approached her, covered her mouth with his hand, and spoke with a Cypriot accent. A few minutes later, the perpetrators fled.

An examination of the scene showed that the criminals entered and exited the house through a forced aluminum sliding balcony door. Approximately €1,500 in cash and jewelry were stolen from a locked bedside cabinet.

The housekeeper told police that the man who attacked her spoke English, was dressed entirely in black, and wore a hood. The homeowner said that all three were wearing black clothing with their faces covered, and that one of them spoke with a Cypriot accent, suggesting he may be a local resident.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage in the Germasogeia area and continue their investigation.
