Parliament approved an electricity consumption fee of 0.5 euro cents per kWh
On October 9, 2025, the Parliament of Cyprus approved regulations introducing a fee of 0.5 euro cents per kilowatt-hour for electricity consumption.
During the discussion, a representative of the Ministry of Energy explained that the fee amount is determined annually by regulation, and that the rate approved today corresponds to that applied under the previous regulations, which are now being repealed.
It was stated that the fee rate is based on the amount included in the 2025 budget of the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Fund, and that this amount is expected to be collected as the electricity consumption fee.
For consumers, this means that the fee will be charged on the electricity consumed according to the established rate.
