The first week of September in Cyprus begins with rain and thunderstorms, particularly in the mountainous regions
According to the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, on Monday, September 2nd, the region is affected by seasonal low pressure and an unstable air mass.
In the first half of the day, the weather in most areas will be mostly clear. However, increased cloudiness is expected in some parts of the west and north, which may bring isolated showers later on. In the afternoon, clouds will lead to scattered rain or even thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island.
The meteorological service forecasts that today’s temperatures will reach up to 34°C in inland areas, around 31°C on the western and southwestern coasts, about 33°C on the other coasts, and up to 24°C in the mountainous regions.
By evening and into the night, the weather will become mostly clear, though increased cloudiness is expected in the west and north.
Temperatures will drop to around 20°C in inland areas, 22°C on the coasts, and 13°C in the mountains.
In the coming days, clouds will bring isolated showers and storms, mainly in the mountains and inland areas.
No significant change in temperature is expected on Tuesday. However, a gradual, slight increase is anticipated through Thursday, approaching the average climatic values.
