Teen Injured in Firecracker Explosion at Churchyard in Larnaca
A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after a firecracker exploded in a churchyard in Larnaca, resulting in the loss of his pinky finger.
According to police reports, the incident took place on Thursday around 4:30 p.m. in the courtyard of a church in the village of Klavdia, Larnaca district, where a group of teenagers had gathered.
Preliminary findings suggest that a homemade firecracker went off near the boy, causing severe injuries.
He was initially taken to Larnaca General Hospital, where doctors confirmed that his left pinky finger had been seriously damaged. Due to the severity of the injury, he was later transferred to a private hospital for further treatment.
The Aradippou police have launched an investigation into the incident.
