The hotel occupancy in Cyprus in December has been calculated
The average hotel occupancy in the Republic of Cyprus in December fluctuates between 35 and 40 percent. During the Christmas holidays, this figure has increased to 55%, with the same forecast for the upcoming New Year holidays.
According to the General Director of the Cyprus Hoteliers Association (Pasyxe), Philokypros Russunides, despite satisfactory figures during the long weekends, the remaining part of the month had relatively low occupancy.
Moreover, over the past few months, it has been revealed that Cyprus is not just a summer destination; the resort offers year-round tourist opportunities. Additionally, the mild weather has led to an increased demand for mountain resorts.
"In cities like Paphos and Limassol, there was a higher influx of tourists during December, unlike the Famagusta region where most hotels remained closed," added the head of Pasyxe.

Philokypros Russunides noted that he is in constant contact with President Nikos Christodoulides, as well as with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Labor, "to create a foundation for a significant influx of tourists in the winter months."
Despite the loss of the Israeli market due to the ongoing conflict, hotel owners remain confident that hotel occupancy in 2024 will reach the high levels recorded this year.
