Two police officers, who were filmed engaging in intimate acts inside a service vehicle in the Aradippou industrial area, will not face criminal charges. This was announced by the police on Thursday.

According to law enforcement, both the criminal and disciplinary investigations have already been completed. The legal department decided not to press criminal charges against the officers. However, a disciplinary procedure has been initiated, and both remain suspended from duty.

The incident occurred in June of last year. A bystander filmed the event on agricultural land near Aradippou and posted the video online, where it quickly went viral. Police confirmed that one of the officers was on duty and using a service vehicle at the time.

By order of the police chief, the suspension of both officers has been extended until the disciplinary proceedings are completed. The commission reviewing the case consists of a senior police officer and two representatives from the legal department.

Authorities have not disclosed the exact wording of the charges, but it is known that both are accused of inappropriate conduct, and the officer on duty also of dereliction of duty. If found guilty, they could face dismissal.

Until the conclusion of the hearings, both officers remain suspended.
