The Republic of Cyprus Police are investigating the second fire in a bookmaker's office in the last few days. Both fires occurred in Nicosia: the first last Sunday, and the second last night.
According to the police press service, the fire at a bookmaker's office on Luki Akrita Street in Nicosia broke out today around 00:40. As a result of the fire, the adjacent premises, which were used as a smoking area, were damaged.
Police and fire services arrived at the scene, and the fire was extinguished.
A similar fire broke out in another bookmaker's office in Nicosia at midnight last Sunday.
Preliminary information suggests that arson was the cause of both fires. The investigation into the incidents is ongoing.
