Cyprus Police Detain 47 Illegal Immigrants
A coordinated operation to prevent illegal residence in the Republic of Cyprus was conducted in the provinces of Nicosia, Limassol, and Paphos.
During the operation, 47 foreigners illegally residing in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus were identified and arrested. Immediately after the detention, procedures for their immediate repatriation were activated.
The operation involved personnel from the Department of Foreigners and Immigration Affairs, as well as the Green Line Surveillance and Migration Flow Control Department.
It was previously reported that since the beginning of the year, 814 individuals have been repatriated for illegal residence in the Republic of Cyprus.
The police also reported that in 2023, 9699 individuals were repatriated to their countries.
