The police found and defused a bomb in a car in Larnaca
In Larnaca, the police discovered a homemade low-power explosive device in a car belonging to a woman. The bomb failed to detonate.
Larnaca police spokesperson Spiros Hrisostomou confirmed that the device did not explode, and the police cordoned off the area. A bomb disposal specialist was called to deactivate the device.
The woman who owns the car was summoned to the police station to give a statement to determine if she suspects anyone, if she has been threatened, or if she has had any problems with anyone.
The police are also reviewing surveillance camera footage in the area to establish the circumstances under which the explosive device was planted.
