Apartment Fire in Strovolos: One Person Suffers Burns
A fire broke out in a second-floor apartment in Strovolos on Saturday morning. As a result of the incident, one resident suffered minor burns, and two others were taken to the hospital for precautionary examinations.
According to the fire service, the call was received at 06:26. Firefighting units from Nicosia arrived at the scene with four fire engines, including a vehicle equipped with a telescopic ladder.
Firefighters entered the premises and extinguished the blaze using water hoses, also utilizing breathing apparatus due to heavy smoke.
During the incident, the apartment owner sustained minor burns to his arm. Both he and his wife were transported to Nicosia General Hospital after inhaling smoke.
Additionally, firefighters rescued a small dog that was trapped inside the apartment and unable to escape on its own.
