Nicosia Wins European Mobility Week Award
Nicosia has been awarded the European Mobility Week Award for 2023, along with a cash prize of €2,000 for the municipality.
Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades announced the prestigious award during an event in Nicosia.
European Mobility Week is celebrated annually from September 16 to 22, starting from 2019, with the goal of encouraging and supporting local authorities in their efforts toward sustainable urban mobility.
The theme for the 2023 campaign is "Energy Efficiency," aimed at raising awareness about the impact of transportation choices on daily commutes.
The "European Mobility Week 2024" campaign will focus on urging people to rethink the use of public spaces in cities.
