President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, traveled to Vienna on Friday. In the capital of Austria, the head of state will participate in a dinner with the leaders of European Union member states.
The dinner is organized by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer. In addition to the Cypriot leader and the organizers of the dinner, representatives of the governments of Denmark, Latvia, Malta, Slovakia, and Slovenia will also be present at the event.
Before departing for Vienna, Nicos Anastasiades stated that the main topic of discussion during the dinner would be the EU's strategic agenda and the strategy ahead of the upcoming European elections on June 9.
"We have specific positions on all the main EU issues in the context of our actions to strengthen the voice and role in Brussels on issues related to EU strategic autonomy, migration, or decision-making processes," said the head of Cyprus.
