Omonia president announces progress on own stadium project
Stavros Papastavrou, president of the football club Omonia, stated on December 25, 2025, that bureaucratic procedures related to the construction of the club’s own stadium and associated works in the area of Cyprus are advancing.
According to him, the necessary administrative steps for building the stadium and other projects in the surrounding area have progressed significantly. Papastavrou noted that in the new year, the club will be able to present a more complete picture of the entire project.
The announcement elicited a positive reaction from fans, for whom having their own stadium has long been a goal. The report notes that previously the club did not release much information externally, not due to a lack of work, but because management sought to be confident in every step.
The message emphasizes that further details and specific timelines will be available after the completion of current procedures. No official clarifications regarding the work schedule or budgets are provided in the publication.
Residents and fans in Cyprus should expect official updates from the club at the beginning of next year, when Omonia plans to present visualizations and details of the project being implemented.
