Beer sales in Cyprus fell by nearly 9% in April

Beer deliveries in Cyprus in April 2026 decreased by 8.9% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the Statistical Service, which published new data on the state of the alcoholic beverage market.
According to the report, about 3.4 million liters of beer were supplied to the market in April, compared to 3.7 million liters in April 2025. The decline affected both the domestic market and export deliveries, but the most significant drop was recorded in exports.
Domestic beer deliveries decreased by 3.3% compared to last year, which may indicate a decline in consumer demand or a change in household spending patterns. At the same time, beer exports plummeted by 57%, becoming the main factor in the overall decline in delivery volumes.
Despite the annual decrease, the market showed a noticeable recovery in monthly terms. Compared to March 2026, beer deliveries increased by 45%, which experts attribute to the start of the tourist season, improved weather conditions, and increased activity in the catering sector.
Analysts note that beer market dynamics in the coming months will largely depend on tourist flow and consumer activity. The HoReCa sector, including bars, restaurants, and hotels, traditionally plays a key role in beverage sales during the summer period.
