Drunk driver arrested after head-on collision on Protaras — Cape Greco Avenue

In Cyprus, on April 13, police detained a 20-year-old woman after she, allegedly while intoxicated, drove into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with another car on Protaras — Cape Greco Avenue at around 02:30.

According to police, the 20-year-old driver entered the wrong lane and collided with a car driven by a 26-year-old woman. Both vehicles sustained minor damage, and there were no injuries.

In the final breathalyzer test, the detainee's reading was 104μg% with a legal limit of 9μg%, police reported. The woman was arrested for an offense committed under the influence of alcohol, after which she was released to be summoned to court later.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing by the Paralimni police station. Official data highlight the need to comply with traffic rules and alcohol limits while driving; further procedural decisions will be determined during the investigation and court proceedings.
