Russian Flag Bearer for Cyprus at the Paris Olympics Involved in Sex Scandal
The Paris Olympics have yet to begin, but the Cyprus team has already found itself in an unpleasant situation. The flag bearer for the delegation, 21-year-old Russian Elena Kulichenko, who has been competing for Cyprus since 2021, has been found to have an account on OnlyFans. Both the athlete and her lawyers deny these allegations.
Journalists uncovered an OnlyFans account containing explicit videos of the high jumper. According to Greek City Times, the Cyprus Olympic Committee is already aware of the situation.
It is claimed that sports officials asked the athlete to delete the account with the explicit videos, but she allegedly refused. Lawyers assert that Elena Kulichenko has no connection to the account and that the content posted on the platform was generated by artificial intelligence.
Furthermore, fans of the high jumper claim the videos are deepfakes, noting that the moles and the structure of the navel in the videos do not match those of the athlete, which also suggests AI involvement.
Previously, it was reported that the flag bearers for Cyprus at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics would be athletes Milan Trajkovic and Elena Kulichenko. A total of 15 Cypriot athletes will participate in the Olympics across eight disciplines. Here is the full list of Cypriot athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 21-year-old high jumper Elena Kulichenko switched her sports citizenship from Russian to Cypriot in 2021 due to restrictions imposed on the Russian Athletics Federation. She is also a silver medalist at the 2021 Russian Junior Championships. Currently, she is studying at the University of Georgia in the United States.
