More Than 3.7 Million Tourists Visited Cyprus Since the Beginning of the Year
From January to November 2023, the number of tourists in Cyprus reached 3,722,022 people. The growth in the number of visitors compared to the previous year was 20.4%.
According to a report published by the State Statistical Service, these figures mark a significant increase in the island's tourism industry, approaching the annual record of 3,976,777 people set in 2019.
The total number of tourists arriving in November 2023 was 159,605 people. In November 2022, this figure was 149,857, indicating a growth of 6.5%.
In November 2023, the United Kingdom remained the primary source of tourist flow. Britons accounted for 26.8% (42,724) of the total arrivals.
Next were Poland with 11.8% (18,874), Germany with 10% (15,984), and Greece with 9.7% (15,475).
In November 2023, 67.2% of tourists came for leisure, 19.7% visited friends or relatives, and 12.8% arrived for business reasons.
Regarding outbound tourism, the total volume of trips by Cypriot residents in November was 117,487, which is 14.7% more than in November 2022.
The main countries visited by Cypriot residents in November 2023 were Greece - 33.9% (39,868), the United Kingdom - 13.5% (15,834), and Italy - 5% (5,914).
