In the Republic of Cyprus, the number of residents vaccinated against Covid-19 and the flu has been increasing in January, especially after the winter holidays.

According to Evagoras Tambouris, Deputy Director of the Nursing Service, since the beginning of the year, 27,650 people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus infection, and 114,572 residents of the country have received the flu vaccine.

Since the beginning of January, the number of visits to vaccination centers has increased to 700-800 people per day.

Evagoras Tambouris urged members of the public to discuss with their personal doctors whether they should get vaccinated.

"In case you decide not to get vaccinated, it is recommended to follow standard hygiene rules, wash your hands, and wear a mask in enclosed spaces or at gatherings," noted the medic.

The representative of the nursing service also reminded that vaccination centers operate in all districts daily.

It is worth reminding that earlier it was reported that after the New Year holidays, Cyprus experienced a surge in Covid-19 cases. Doctors were even forced to reintroduce the mandatory use of masks, although not everywhere. At the end of last week, the incidence began to decline.
