Sixth Suspect Arrested in Bold Larnaca Robbery Case
The Famagusta District Court has ordered the five-day remand of a 30-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery committed in 2024 in Larnaca. He is the sixth individual to be detained in this high-profile case.
The suspect was apprehended during a police operation in Limassol by Drug Law Enforcement Unit (ΥΚΑΝ) officers based on a judicial warrant issued as part of an investigation by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The robbery occurred on the night of February 19, 2024, in the Faneromeni area. Four masked men entered the home of a 58-year-old businessman's wife and, threatening them with garden shears, locked her and two domestic workers in a bedroom.
The perpetrators stole mobile phones, jewelry, watches, and cash totaling approximately 188,000 euros.
It was later discovered that there were five perpetrators, and a car stolen in Limassol—later found abandoned in the Germasogeia riverbed—was used for the escape.
Five previously detained individuals (aged 43, 42, 41, 29, and 27) have already been referred to the Larnaca Assize Court, with a hearing scheduled for April 2.
Four of them were previously sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Dimitris Andronikou, known as "Dimitroui," who died in May 2024 following a gunshot wound.
The investigation is ongoing.
