Weak Low-Pressure Area to Bring Variable Cloudiness and Local Rain to Cyprus
Cyprus is expected to experience variable cloudiness and possible short-term rain due to the influence of a weak low-pressure area, meteorologists reported. The forecast applies for the next 24 hours and covers western, northern, and coastal regions.
This evening, mostly dry, but on the western and northern coasts and in the western part of the island, occasional low cloud build-ups are expected. Winds southwest to northwest, and locally north, weak, occasionally 3–4 Beaufort, later decreasing to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 16°C in inland areas and on the western and southern coasts, around 17°C on other coasts, and about 12°C in the mountains.
Tomorrow during the day, mostly clear, with occasional temporary cloud build-ups and by midday some brief rain expected in the evening. Wind will remain mainly southwest to northwest, variable in some areas in the morning, weak, gradually increasing to 3–4 Beaufort, and temporarily reaching 4–5 Beaufort on the southern coasts. Maximum temperatures will rise to ≈29°C inland, around 26°C on the western coast, about 28°C on other coasts, and around 20°C in the mountains.
For Sunday and Monday, the forecast remains similar: mainly clear, but occasional temporary cloud build-ups with isolated rain are possible. Temperatures in the coming days will remain slightly above the climatic norm.
