Pharmacy Employees in Limassol Strike Due to Staff Shortages
Staff at a hospital pharmacy in Limassol suspended work for two hours from 11:00 to 13:00 in protest against staff shortages.
A representative from the Isotita union stated that the pharmacy has been experiencing staff shortages for some time due to dismissed employees. One of them was the pharmacy manager who retired on Wednesday.
The pharmacy claims that the remaining staff is insufficient to fulfill all necessary duties and safely supply patients with medications.
According to the union representative, assurances were previously given that replacements would be sent in time to cover the recent retirement, but this did not happen.
“The pharmacy will continue to intermittently close until a solution is found,” said the union representative.
The Limassol hospital pharmacy serves outpatient clinics and wards.
