Famagusta court remands 27-year-old suspect in thefts and burglaries for six days
A 27-year-old man, wanted by the police in connection with thefts and residential burglaries and detained the day before, appeared before the Famagusta District Court. The court ordered him to be held in custody for six days.
The arrest occurred on Saturday afternoon following a police chase. According to the police press office, around 16:00 in the Livadia area (Larnaca), a vehicle previously reported as stolen was located.
When the driver noticed the police, he attempted to escape by reversing and collided with a police patrol car. During the operation, law enforcement used service firearms to forcibly stop the vehicle.
The driver was arrested on the spot for crimes committed in the presence of the police. The investigation is ongoing.
