In 2024, Cyprus plans to attract 80,000 Swiss tourists

The Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cyprus stated on Wednesday that he sees a real possibility for further increasing the number of tourists from Switzerland.

In 2024, their number could reach 80,000. According to the Minister of Tourism, Kostas Kumis, who recently held a series of meetings in Zurich, in 2023, the number of Swiss arrivals on the island reached 73,000, which is 20% more than in 2022.

The statement notes that during the visit to Switzerland, the minister met with high-ranking representatives of tourist organizations conducting tours and flights to Cyprus.

They exchanged views on the development of the Swiss market in 2023, the level of satisfaction of Swiss visitors, issues related to special types of tourism, as well as the current air communication between the two countries.

In addition, during his visit, the Deputy Minister of Tourism also gave an interview to a well-known Swiss magazine specializing in tourism.

"The Swiss market is a market that every country, every tourist destination aspires to, as it holds a high position among the countries making up the structure of tourist flows," the minister said.

He also emphasized the importance of the average spending of Swiss visitors per capita, which is significantly higher than that of travelers from many other countries, making the Swiss market particularly attractive.
